If i ran a fansite of a game and held daily tournaments for cash... is it illegal?

im planning on hosting a pc game fan site and have daily tournaments..

so this is pretty much the process..

5 players put in $10 in the pot..
all 5 enter
i watch the match
i pay the winner the pot

so is this illegal or has anything to do with copyrighting? I cant see a reason why i would get in trouble for having daily tournaments that are played by people who played the game... i dont see anything that says "you can only play our game at home but only by yourself or with friends, you cannot bet money that you can kick anyones *** on the internet and then proving it by playing this game online"

please let me know if their is

Answer:
i think you'll be fine as long as you make sure some type of moderator or federal complice site give you the okay so that they know what's going ona nd wont shut you down for not handeling business the right way

What kind of game is it? your explanation is very confusing...are you profiting from the outcome of the game? What's the point of doing it if you don't?
