Do you want a new investigation on 911?
And if so, what should the consquences be to those who are responsible?
Answers:
Personally I wish a a magic hand would pop out of peoples computers and smack the conspiracy theorist in the head.
No. Bin Laden has already claimed responsibility. They were known terrorists. What more do you want?
Yes and those responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
The 9/11 commission report was excellent. They missed very little. My main gripe is that they pushed some "solutions" without good hearings into pros & cons of those solutions.
Most of the opposition to the 9/11 commission conclusions are from conspiracy theorists who would not be satisfied by some other equally good investigation.
It is like Roswell. The government has totally declassified what went on there, there is no longer any Cold War reason to have any cover up. However, the conspiracy theorists refuse to believe anything that is contrary to their world view, so they will constantly be asking for investigations and release of the data that has already been released, that they refuse to believe.
We are now in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, that we would never have got into if it was not for 911. After the ucoming election, we may also be in a war in Pakistan. While there were a lot of falsehoods justifying the invasion of Iraq, there would never have been the public support, and more importantly Congress vote, for US troops into Afghaistan, Iraq, Pakistan, whose next Iran?
were it not for the kind of info that the 9/11 commission uncovered
If you look back to Pearl Harbor history ... there were a whole series of investigations. They were compromised by the need to keep secrets during WW II, the desire by many to find scapegoats inside our government, and blatent racism of the kind that imprisoned America's Japanese Americans. By comparison, the 9/11 commission did a bang up job that does America proud.
