Driving in California/Arizona?
I going to be 16 and get my drivers license on June 15, 2008. Will I be able to drive from California to Arizona the first year that I have my license? Or do I need to wait until I'm eighteen? Please include links. Thanks.
Answers:
You need to wait until you are eighteen unless you are driving with an adult over the age of 25.
Licenses in one state are honored in other states. Besides if you don't do anything wrong to get stopped by a cop who is going to know?
Check with the internet, but Arizona is the same as California , you can drive, some states are 15 and one state I do believe is S Dakota is 14.
If you are old enough to have a driver's licence, then it will be recognized in all jurisdictions. If your home jurisdiction has restrictions on when you can drive and on what roads, these limits will apply wherever you drive, even if that jurisdiction does not have similar limits.
I live in Arizona and Im not sure but I think that it will be ok..But im not sure.
I live in AZ and you only have to be 16 to have a Driver's License here, but i dont know when they change the law. but there are curfew laws. So if you drive here, dont be out late at night.
I would NOT worry about driving from CA to AZ. I dont think it should matter if you are 16 or 18. A valid DL is a valid DL. I worked in car rental, and i learned that people can drive in our country with a driver's license from ANY state or country. As long as it is valid.
I don't know about Arizona, but in California there are restrictions on your driving at age 16. If I remember correctly, for the first 6 months you can't drive with anyone under 25 in your car unless there is also someone over 25. And for the first year you can't drive past midnight. There are exceptions (you can drive a younger sibling to school, you can drive home at night from school events, etc). So if you are alone and only driving during the day, it should be fine.
