Is anyone surprised that there is already a class action lawsuit against Mattel from those toys form China?
Some attorneys hav already gotten together and put together a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Mattel for the toys thye imported from China that supposedly had lead paint and other problems.
I'm just surprised it took this long for the attorneys fo file a lawsuit.

Mattel is only guilty for using a Chinese toy maker to produce an American product.
Lawyers protect you in situations like this. Parents all over the country have had to throw away toys that they paid good money for. But it's not worth it for any of them to sue Mattel individually because it would cost way too much for one individual to bear. That's why the class action vehicle was created, so that the rights of the many with small claims could be adjudicated in a cost effective way.
I am not surprised. People are always looking for easy monetary gain and/or to be the "victim". Attorneys are always ready to "help" these people out (for a fee or cut of the action).
The good ole USofA...sue 'em all! Realize that this is NOT a suit filed for safety reasons.it is merely a slap to an American company for outsourcing. Guess the law wants to legislate how companies do business now...in a Capitalist society yet! How do you feel about socialism now?

Reminds me of the witch hunt from the big three for Volks Wagen in the early 80's when VW started to have uncomfortable success here. Suddenly cars (VW) slammed through walls, with sudden acceleration syndrome.
By the time, the claims where proven to be baloney, VW was kaput here.
Maby that entire lead paint and plastic chemicals stuff is a try, to hurt Chinese Toy Importers, but it will back fire in the long run, like VW, which came back stronger and more successful then ever.
sometimes it takes a while to gather all the evidence ... better they have it all and correct or they will lose the lawsuit
I am not surprised at all. We live in a horribly litigious country.
so the only culprit who is getting hurt is Mattel.the u.s.a.goverment is fully aware,of china's innumerable violations on all fronts and is doing nothing about it.it is one thing,doing business with a country who follows all international safety protocol's and agreement's;and a other one that is showing complete disregard for human rights and freedom violations.to do business with a Communist country that is hostile to a free society of the western world,is like knowing that the enemy is at your door step's, and you turn you head the other way pretending that everything is o. k. the u.s.a. government should be suet,for allowing American company's to open work shop's in those areas.for the sake of profit our lives's are being put in danger.
Let's review the facts here: Mattel is a major company in the USA, where there profit comes from. Their primary customers are children in the USA. Mattel decided to outsource a large part of its workforce (except of course the CEO & executives), thus eliminating jobs in the USA. Mattel hired laborers in China, not due to their advanced skills or awards in safety --- BUT because of the costs to Mattel. This gave Mattel more profit for those large executive bonuses. Mattel then DID NOT monitor the products made in this foreign country by foreign workers ON THE CHEAP.
AND people have the nerve to blame the attorneys for suing a company that made the decision to put profits before the safety of their customers, a company that eliminated numerous jobs for our citizens. The US Government is obviously not protecting the consumers from defective products from China or from US Corporations outsourcing jobs --- so who will protect us? Maybe if enough lawsuits are filed against these greedy, outsourcing companies Corporate America may change their ways.
