What can you do if any employer fails to meet OSHA requirements and tells you to seek employement elsewhere?
In regards to mold in a medical building?

Well actually, the first thing you have to do, is find out if the employer even has to abide by Osha regulation.
The last time i checked, you had to have a minimum of 13 employees to fall under any osha regulations, and even then, you didn't fall under all osha regulations.
Report it to OSHA. Seek employment elswhere.
Tell your boss.
Contact your HR dept.
Contact osha.
Contact a lawyer.
In that order.
contact osha..i think your employee has 14 days to fix the problem..if he fails to fix the problem, legal action can be taken. you should absolutely do something, as its in a medical building.mold can be toxic.

Failed to meet WHAT osha requirement? Be specific. OSHA has no mold exposure limit. Some mold can be toxic, and the employer has a general obligation to protect it's employees. If there really is toxic mold (not just non-toxic mold) and they are abating it, then you should receive unemployment until it's abated.
If it's YOU that thinks there's a health issue regarding mold, then you may want to file a complaint with OSHA regarding your concerns so a compliance officer can investigate.
If an employer has just told you there's a mold issue and you need to find someplace else to work, then you should be eligible for unemployment. So, it depends on the situation. Actual cases where toxic mold will actually release viable spores and affect the health of people is rare. Symptoms can be extreme, but chances are very rare. Here in rainy Oregon, mold inside home walls is common, but rarely toxic.
