I need to know about expungement and a plea-deal. I "plead out" to misdemeanors and they dropped my felony...

Will "expunging" do anything to delete anyone from knowing that I was ever charged with a felony?

Also, can I contest the felony charge? I have no idea why the state attorneys "filed information" (which i'm told is the lingo, to mean "charge")

Please anyone with info, please inform me.

Thanks!

Answers:
"expunging" is a way of saying wiping off the record as if it never happened. The only people that could see this in the future are law enforcement authorities if you were being
investigated again, and then it would take some digging.
Plead out to a misdemeanor means just that. You will be charged with a misdemeanor which carries much lower punishments then felonies.

More than likely the misdeamenor plea will never go off your record. But if the felony charges are still on your record, you can request that your State Attorney expunge it. But you may not be that successful.
