Can you legally live on federal land if you don't build a structure?

I wan't to live in the mountins and pick wild mushrooms, berries, nuts to sell in the city markets. I would be moving around monthly( never in one spot longer than a month).

Answers:
No. You must get a permit to be there. It is not hard to do. Go speak with Housing & Urban Development. They can direct you in getting such a permit.
