Family court question .. Please answer..?

I have been to family court with my ex about my children.. and we went to pre-trial and my lawyer said he wants to go to trial... This is in nys .
My question is what happens in trial because i have never been to a trial before.. Do i have to get up and talk or what happens??

Your attorney should be answering these questions for you. Or rather, you should be asking your attorney these questions. If you will be testifying in Court then your attorney will proabably prepare you before you testify. At least, thats what a competent attorney will do. Otherwise, other ppl might be testifying, like your ex. etc. You won't testify unless your attorney thinks that you should. So discuss these things with your attorney. That what you pay him for, among other things, like hopefully winning the case.


well, idk and you dont know either so you should provide a couple speeches for the trial.
it never hurts to be preprared.
